Sawyer is HOME!!! After being allowed back into Tahitian on Thursday, I put out water and food for squirrels, deer, birds and cats. I visited the property day and night and tonight when I went and sat for a while, he came out of the ashes and back into my life!!! He is very slightly singed, whiskers burned, skinny, but otherwise okay. Now I can turn my attention to helping those that still need to be reunited. Have faith, the pets are trying to find you, too!!!

That is so wonderful! Pets are little survivors! We're so happy for you and glad Sawyer get to get some good grub tonight!

And now for some good news! Every night I go to my home site and call for my cat, Sawyer. Everyone would look at me with sad eyes and wish me good luck, doubting we'd ever see him again. The odds were against us. Tonight I stopped by on my way to Smithville and who should come walking out of the ashes? Unbelieveable! He first asked me when the heck I'd been and then what was for dinner :-) Don't give up hope, pets are still making their way home! As soon as they let us in last Thursday, I put out cat food and water, along with birdseed and deer corn. It worked! Good luck to everyone else still missing a pet!
