I haven't lived in Elgin all that long, so am not super familiar with the area, but isn't 183 and MLK quite a ways north? Not Bastrop? Just trying to clarify locations a bit more.

Nope. When I lived in Austin, 183 & MLK was east, southeast. MLK doesn't meet 183 in west, northwest.

183 and MLK is on the east side of Austin. MLK turns into Webberville Rd.

Either location is plenty far from Bastrop

Dogs and even puppies can travel a good distance. People pick up dogs and then drop them elsewhere when they decide not to keep/rescue them.
